Safe Kids Chapters (Utah)

Safe Kids chapters are made up of individuals and organizations committed to reducing the incidence of accidental childhood injuries. There are more than 600 chapters nationwide. Safe Kids chapters have worked with a lead organization with a vested interest in protecting children and have signed an agreement and commit resources and staff to “lead” the chapter and recruit members. Currently, Utah has nine (9) chapters throughout the state.

A Safe Kids Chapter is dedicated and responsible for adhering to the following requirements in order to remain in “good standing” with Safe Kids Utah. These include:

  • Coordinate overall activities with the chapter and ensure they are meeting goals and expectations set forth by agreement between its Chapter and Safe Kids Utah
  • Ability to build and sustain a Safe Kids Chapter
  • Coordinate annual activities in at least one (1) risk areas, including some of the following:
    • Bike safety
    • Child passenger safety
    • Infant safety
    • Fire safety
    • Home safety
    • Pedestrian safety
    • Safe crossing (railroad crossing)
    • Sports safety
    • Water safety
  • Serve as liaison between the chapter and Safe Kids Utah
  • Comply with the requirements of Safe Kids Utah
